COD Clan Wars Season 4 Specific Rules – Updated 14/09/2020

General

Please note that the following ruleset should be read in conjunction with Clan Wars General Rules where applicable. All rights are reserved by Clan Wars to adapt and or change the ruleset during the competition should there be a viable reason to do so and with timely communication to the participants. By partaking in a Clan Wars organized event you agree to the Rules and Stipulations as set out by Clan Wars with this document being the primary and Clan Wars General Rules the secondary reference. Clan Wars reserves the right to exclude any Players and Clans or deny entry of such Players or Clans into any Clan Wars competition at its sole discretion. In terms of Code of Conduct and Sportsmanship please refer to the General rules as a guide. Noncompliance to a set rule or ruleset could result in penalties to a team or in its worst case, disqualification of a Player or Team or Clan. Any dispute will be handled by the League Masters, then the organizers then any third party that may need to assist in ruling but the final decision remains that of the organizers.

Clan Wars Call of Duty Season 4 is a 6v6 League Tournament, played on Hardpoint, Domination and Search & Destroy.

Cross Play and Region: Players are not restricted to region; however, the organizers will not be responsible for token issues that arise from “PING” or “LAG” should non-regional players be involved. The only regional restriction is that a non-South African player may not host a match. There are no restrictions on the platform players can participate on.

Team Set Up: A team consists of a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 16 players from the same clan. Only 6 players may be on a server at a time (for a 6v6) mode, and only streamers/neutral hosts are permitted to use CODCAST (spectate) during a match. Spectating for your team will result in an immediate ban from the competition. Players are not permitted to change their COD name during the season. If an on-screen player name is found to be different from the one that was registered for their team, they are not permitted to play matches, and the opposing team may refuse to play the match until a player who is registered on the site joins the match or the offending team agrees to play minus that player which is not registered. Please note that players whose names have changed after registration are deemed NOT REGISTERED. If any non registered player plays a match, the team will be given a map forfeit for each map that player participates in (see below “PENALTIES AND INFRINGEMENTS”).

Input vs Hardware: Players are identified based on platform not input, so a PC player using a controller will still be identified as a PC player.

Server Setup, Game Scheduling and Hosting: Servers are hosted on a Private Match platform and on this platform all Weapons and Equipment are enabled by default. The correct load-out is the responsibility of each individual player prior to the start of the match, as it is also the players responsibility to ensure that any banned items are not part of that load-out. In accordance, please see the SEASON 4 RESTRICTIONS page. It is up to the two team captains to decide who will host the server – preferably to be hosted by a neutral host. It is the responsibility of the hosting team/ neutral host to correctly setup the server based on the specifications and rule set in SEASON 4 MODE SET UPS. Should a server be set up incorrectly, the map must be abandoned, the host should correct the error and the map should be replayed. In the case where the final score count is incorrect and it is only seen after the map is complete, the the hosting team will receive a yellow card for each map that is set up incorrectly. Should a neutral host be responsible for the server being set up incorrectly, an admin will need to be consulted and could result in a rematch. Games must be played Monday to Thursday in the week that it is scheduled for and it is up to the two captains playing to schedule the match at a mutually beneficial time during that week in the match group as outlined below in “MATCH GROUPS”. Game scheduling needs to be done in the week prior to the match and communicated with your League Master by Friday 11:00am the week before your scheduled match. Only if an agreement cannot be reached, a forced schedule will be done by the League Admin and whatever team cannot accommodate that time will forfeit. This is a last resort. The only regional restriction is that a non-South African player may not host a match, this means that a player/host based in South Africa MUST host the match. Teams are given leeway of 15 minutes to ensure their team is online and ready. Any further delay could result in a penalty of a yellow card for that team.

Score reporting: It is the responsibility of the winning team on match day to report the score in the match group (See “MATCH GROUPS” below). Scores are to be reported to the assigned League Master. Score reporting has to be done within 24hr of a completed match if no disputes are logged. For Disputes: Please see GENERAL RULES for reference. Scores must be reported with the final scoreboard of the match (with kills, deaths and player scores) as per the SCORE REPORTING page. Scoreboards must be legible and of good quality so that all names and values can be clearly seen. This is extremely important as we will need all of these scores to determine player statistics throughout the season.

Server unplayable (crashes or updates):In the event that a server crashes during a LIVE round, please use the following procedure:

If a server crashes (on the host side) in a burn round or LIVE game, the host is required to restart that round/mode.  The “crashed” round will be taken as void. If the server crashes once, it will likely crash again for a brief period of time. A maximum of 15 minutes will be allowed to restart the game and server. Failing to restore the game in this time period the game must be rescheduled with the procedure specified below:
If the server crashes and cannot be restored as per above the match must be rescheduled to be played withing the allocated time fame (Monday to Thursday of that week).
In games where a player(s) drops, it is the duty of the team captains to immediately confirm to each other if player(s) disconnects from the game. Please keep an eye on your match group to identify this problem as soon as it happens. If a player disconnect has taken place before 2:30 in the game, the full map will be replayed on server restore. If a player drops after 2:30, the map should continue. Only if more than one player drops should the map/mode be abandoned by the host, the players should rejoin or substitutes brought in and the map should be replayed. A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed for replacement of players.
When both teams agree that a server crash has taken place and the game cannot continue on another server on the night, a rematch must take place on a different date. The match should be rescheduled to be played withing the allocated time fame (Monday to Thursday of that week). The new date and time must be submitted to the roster and the League Master must be informed. The same maps will be replayed in this event. In the event that the server is unplayable due to an update the above will also apply.
In the case of load-shedding (should it return during a tournament), teams need to be proactive and check schedules before matches. Teams need to organise for substitute players ahead of time.
Should scheduled matches be unable to happen due to this reason, reschedule the match within match week Monday to Thursday.
If this cannot be rescheduled in the required week, a special match can be scheduled either the Friday or the Saturday – teams must request this from Clan Wars admin. If this is still not possible (and in extreme cases), both teams can agree they can also utilize the Sunday before noon of the that week to play the game.
If none of the above can be achieved, both teams will take the forfeit and both teams will receive a game played but with “ZERO” cumulative score to the league table.
Should no team wish to forfeit as above, an agreement to play both teams with smaller player counts (eg: 4v4) needs to be reached with Clan Wars admin.

CODCASTER MODE: Teams should arrange a neutral streamer to cast their matches timeously to ensure that all parties are fair and the match has unbiased commentating. If teams fail to procure a neutral streamer, teams may broadcast gameplay from their POV (point of view).

In the case of teams wanting a 3rd person broadcast for their match, the following applies:

Provided that both team captains of the teams that are playing agree, streamers may be in Codcaster for that match for the purpose of broadcasting the match to the community. Streamers are also asked to add an additional delay on the broadcasting side to combat “stream sniping.”
Same team streaming will only be allowed only if:
  1. The match is broadcast (Link to be provided by the stream team)
  2. The captains explicitly agree (Assumptions will not be regarded as a defense)
  3. A representative of both teams is present on the broadcast (If a team wishes to stream their own clans match a commentator from the opposing team must be present in the stream, as both teams should be represented)

Take special note, that if such agreement is reached between the two teams, any infringement and or accusation arising from this arrangement will not be recognized by the organizers. If the above conditions are not 100% met, the below rule will apply:

Teams are asked not to be in codcaster no matter the reason. Teams are therefore responsible for all their players and need to remind them of this. Teams caught spectating or “stream sniping” will face the following consequences if enough proof is gathered: The player(s) using codcaster mode will receive a one Season ban. If the player is a member one of the teams that is playing, they will forfeit the entire match the spectator was used on. Teams will also receive a penalty of a RED CARD, which will mean -250 points from their division points total and the next infringement will mean teams are no longer eligible to compete in Season 4. We therefore ask teams to act with good sportsmanship and refrain from cheating.

Divisions and Playoffs:
All teams competing will be placed in a division with divisional preference given to teams with previous seasonal scores. In each division, teams will play each other to determine the top teams in each division. Once all the matches in the division have been completed, the two top teams from each division will enter the Final Playoffs to determine the divisional winner. The second and third teams will play off for the 3rd position. No official playoffs will be held between divisions.

HARDPOINT

Hardpoint Game Mode Special Conditions: Each match will consist of 3 MAPS, all 3 MAPS need to be played with over all scores recorded. If a team does not show up or forfeits a game due to bad sportsmanship or player no shows, the opposing team will automatically win the match and be awarded the maximum win score of 250 points while the forfeiting team will receive 0.

DOMINATION

Domination Game Mode Special Conditions: Each match will consist of 3 MAPS, all 3 MAPS need to be played with over all scores recorded. If a team does not show up or forfeits a game due to bad sportsmanship or player no shows, the opposing team will automatically win the match and be awarded the maximum win score of 250 points while the forfeiting team will receive 0.

SEARCH & DESTROY

SND Mode Special Conditions: Each SND match up will be on a “FIRST TO 5” basis. Each round win counts as 50 points in the league table. If a team does not show up or forfeits a game due to bad sportsmanship or player no shows, the opposing team will automatically win the match and be awarded the maximum win score of 250 points while the forfeiting team will receive 0.

MATCH GROUPS

A match group will be created by your League Master the week before a scheduled match up. The match group will consist of the following people: The League Master for your division, the captains for both teams and the host and/or streamer for that match up. All communications regarding the match up need to be in this group to avoid confusion. All score reporting and rule infringements need to be communicated (with proof in the case of rule infringements) in this group. If a dispute arises, the League Masters may add Endseeker707 (and in extreme cases, jacosauer) to this group to make a ruling.

PENALTIES & INFRINGEMENTS

  • Team eligibility at any point during the season is up to the organisers of Clan Wars as a final decision.
  • Teams will be required to report of any rule infringement(s) at the end of the map in which the infringement occurred to the league master in the match group. Teams will then need to provide proof (video or screenshot) of the infringement after the match. Failure to do so could possibly void any penalty for the opposing team.
  • It remains the responsibility of team captains to check their team before the start of a match. If a player on a team is not registered on the team roster (on the website), the team could face a penalty as below:
    • Non-registered players will be identified when the team stats for the match are entered by our Stats Master.
    • Each map where a team has used an unregistered player will become a map forfeit and full points (250) will be allocated to the non-offending team and the team found to be in infringement will receive zero (0) points.
  • For each rule infringement (use of banned weapons, banned equipment etc.) the offending team will receive a yellow card:
    • A yellow card =  -100 points per map
  • On the 4th yellow card, a team will receive a Red card (a Red Card =  – 250 points on the league table)
  • On the next infringement after a RED card, the team will not be eligible to continue in Season 4.
  • If a team forfeits a match, the opposing team receives the full 750 points for the match. and the forfeiting team will receive zero (0) points.
  • If a team forfeits more than once during the season, the team will not be eligible to continue in Season 4.
